Gersh Academy to Help Distribute 10,000 toys to Children in Puerto Rico

Staff at Gersh Academy International in Puerto Rico are helping to distribute 10,000 toys collected by Operation Toy Story, a group put together to send aid to children in need in the wake of Hurricane Maria.

Gersh Academy, Puerto Rico to Re-Open Following Hurricane Maria

Gersh Academy in Puerto Rico will reopen Monday, October 9, 2017, for full academics and therapeutic services.

Within the first few months she developed a nice feeling of trust with the staff where she was very willing to go to school. They don’t reprimand or use a reward system they are all just warm and understanding which is what she needs and I think every child needs. Intellectually I see her flourishing because she is much less anxious so she’s able to concentrate better. We feel very fortunate to have found a nice safe, warm, inviting atmosphere for our daughter.”
